The radicalGAME project, a pioneering initiative supported by the European Union, aims to combat youth radicalization through an innovative blend of policy, research, and practical engagement. It also aims to empower young people to become proactive agents against the spread of radical ideologies, discrimination, and violence.
This is a significant step forward in preventing youth radicalization through innovative and collaborative approaches.
At its core, radicalGAME pursues three main objectives:
Cross-Sector Collaboration: By getting together policymakers, researchers, practitioners and youth across borders, radicalGAME develops comprehensive strategies to address radicalization. This collaborative approach ensures that solutions are holistic and inclusive.
Game-Based Learning: At its centre, there is the creation of the radicalGAME platform. This gamified educational tool engages young people in critical discourse, teaching skills such as active citizenship, critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and media literacy. The goal is to make learning about radicalization prevention both accessible and impactful.
Participatory Action Research: radicalGAME involves young people in the co-creation of knowledge and the design of the platform. This participatory approach ensures that the project is driven by the voices and perspectives of those it aims to serve.
The project includes several key activities:
- Development of the radicalGAME platform to equip youth with tools for active citizenship and radicalization prevention.
- Capacity-building initiatives to train 90 youth practitioners and 120 young individuals.
- Virtual transnational roundtables with 40 stakeholders to develop Policy and Practice Recommendations.
RadicalGAME aligns with the European Union’s priorities of promoting common values, civic engagement, and youth participation by the meaningful cooperation between 5 European partners: RESET (CY) Jugend & kulturprojekt (DE),PRISM impresa sociale (IT), Stimmuli for Social Change SYMLEXIS (GR).
The radicalGAME project has been co-financed with the support of the European Union’s ERASMUS+ programme. Its contents and materials are the sole responsibility of its authors. The Commission cannot be held responsible for any use which may be made of the information contained there.
