European Conference on Children’s Rights in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

On 21 November 2025, Rinova, together with its partners, brought the HUMAN Digital Activists to the European Conference on Children’s Rights in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, hosted by Το Χαμόγελο του Παιδιού – The Smile of the Child in Greece.

The conference brought together more than 20 young representatives from the Youth Panels for Diversity (YPDs), alongside educators, policymakers, and local authorities from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Sweden, Slovenia, Greece, and Cyprus. Participants worked collaboratively on strategies and policy recommendations aimed at integrating the HUMAN programme into municipal and council-level youth action plans.

Rinova’s colleague Sofia Leitão took part as a conference speaker, presenting HUMAN as a comprehensive programme supporting human rights in the digital era, with a strong focus on youth participation, digital citizenship, and democratic engagement.

The conference also featured contributions from Gigi Guizzo, who joined the Spanish YPD representatives Martina, Lua, and Óscar Altide Crespo, Principal of Institut Quatre Cantons (Barcelona), highlighting the role of schools and youth-led initiatives in shaping inclusive digital futures.

Rinova’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young people as active agents of change and ensuring that children’s rights remain central in the development and governance of digital technologies.
